For this coming few weeks, we will be designing to promote a hypothetical one-day symposium held at NYU titled “Invisible Designs”, which brings designers, design historians, and other scholars together to talk about the contributions and achievements of graphic designers and typographers of color over the 20th and 21st centuries.
Final deliverables will be —
- A tabloid-size poster for the symposium;
- Two custom-size spreads (an introductory spread and following feature spread of an short article\essay reprinted for a 36-page booklet being given out with the symposium;
- A high-fidelity layout for the landing page of the symposium website.
March 10th. Assignment brief given. Students expected to lock down content + work on coming up with initial concepts for all the content (the ‘big idea’), and sketches for all the deliverables over the week.
