A4.3 Design System

Notes after meeting with Professor Ahmed —

1. Ahmed prefers the version with the white background.

1. I should work with grids for a better typesetting — try 4,5, or 6 columns grid with margins
2. add a square or circle on top of the i of “DESIGN”

I try to edit the i but it’s a bit confusing for me… I think when there’s both the big and small circle over ‘i’ it look a bit weird for me :(

3. work on the sequence — realign elements → headline → body copy

4. delete “presentation,” edit the time in a better format

5. make the date of the symposium bigger

personally I also want to

1. make the topics of presentation bigger
2. delete EST repetition
3. for the spread I’d like to make it align along the curve like this —

Progress of the poster -

tried 4 and 5 grids then due to the circles I want to use, I ended up with 7 grids, which I am not sure if it’s the right choice to make; but the content fit well in these 3 circles.

I have trouble trouble deciding how to arrange other detailed information about the symposium; Here I tried to let the edges of each sentence flow with the curve of the circle

I came up with 3 different versions of how to arrange the information. I think I prefer the first one and the third one… since the first one is clearer that all three parts aligns while the 3rd one is more dynamic. The forth one on the right is the 1st version but with smaller right top circle.

To finalize my poster, I’d like to softer the edge of the circles & check if the circle sizes are fine — now I feel like the poster may seem a bit off-balance — heavier to the right, so maybe making circles on the right smaller would do the trick. I tried it and put the version as the 4th version.

Spread

I wonder if we need to put all the information to the spread or can we pick and choose? Since I am running out of space for the “finally part.”

I think putting the pic in the middle of two pages is a bit weird but maybe it can be creative too?

I have trouble setting the page number to the correct one — it doesn’t seem to apply after I choose “previous page number” for the master page

without grids — I am not sure if the navigation buttons should be circles… but I try to stay consistent with my posters — though my spread doesn’t have circles… maybe I can only apply the same color scheme.
